Our Story

The Family Farm

For years, Derek and Allie Mannon dreamed of owning the farm that had been in Derek’s family for generations...

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

The Family Farm

Two young girls paint the exterior wall of a building. One girl uses a roller brush on the wall, while the other holds a small roller and paints near a window.

Four generations, one dream...the Mannon family farm.

Originally a dairy farm founded by Derek’s great-grandfather, B.T. Mannon, the land had always been more than just soil and fences…it was a place where roots ran deep and memories were made. Derek spent countless hours here growing up, helping his grandfather, C.E. Mannon, tend to the cattle and repair fences, long before he ever imagined building a life here with Allie.

After marrying, Derek and Allie moved into the farmhouse built by Derek’s great-grandfather. Surrounded by family history, the couple began building a new generation of memories. When the farm was eventually put up for sale, they knew they had to find a way to make it theirs.

THE BREAKTHROUGH

Legacy of Memories

Then, in December 2013, tragedy struck. A fire started in the nursery of their six-month-old daughter, destroying their beloved home. Though everyone escaped unharmed, the experience only deepened their love and determination to rebuild, not just a house, but a legacy.

With both Derek and Allie running their own businesses, they began to dream bigger — of creating something that blended their individual strengths. Derek’s craftsmanship and construction expertise, paired with Allie’s years of experience in the wedding industry, became the foundation for something new: The Eighty Four.

A rustic barn with weathered wood siding, large sliding doors, small windows, and a split-shake roof. There are wooden pews in front of the barn, and nearby greenery and a cloudy sky.

A Dream Reclaimed

Built with Heart

After two years of renovations, The Eighty Four opened its doors in 2020 to a bustling first season of weddings and celebrations. The Mannons take great pride in the sweat equity, creativity, and family spirit poured into every corner of the farm. You’ll still find them working side by side with their four children — Knox, London, Mabry, and Boone — tending to the property, finishing projects, and building something meant to last for generations.

For Derek and Allie, The Eighty Four isn’t just a venue, it’s a reflection of love, resilience, and the beauty of building something together. They hope every couple who celebrates here feels that same warmth and connection to “the farm” that inspired it all.
